Reviving the Rosebank Whisky Distillery which closed in 1993, has been a long-term project for MLA. From early proposals with Scottish Canals, to 2018 when the site was purchased by Ian McLeod Distillers.

Assembling a skilled, collaborative team, the new owners had the vision of preserving and restoring as much of the historic building as possible.

On its last legs at the time of purchase, the site needed care, attention and passion to carry on the Rosebank legacy. Working through the challenges of a pandemic, innovative architectural and engineering solutions were found to transform the space.

Blending old and new, the still-house is a showpiece, revealed through a huge glass-fronted wall. Listed, bonded warehouses along the canal-side have been conserved, refurbished and re-purposed to house the important visitor facilities.

Persistence and dedication have brought this much-loved whisky back with a historical home reimagined for the 21st century and beyond.
