2021 Scottish Design Awards Winner
Needless to say, the team at MLA are ecstatic and will be celebrating (….safely obviously) with a dram or two later today.
A RARE OPPORTUNITY
It has been a fascinating project to work on over the last three years and we have relished the rare opportunity to alter and conserve a historic building in order to give it a purposeful and meaningful future.
The resulting transformation of the building and the entire Glenkinchie Distillery site and Visitor Experience is something we are very proud of.
This is a fantastic Award and it recognises not just our input into the architectural alteration and conservation of a beautiful Victorian warehouse, but the creative talent of the entire team.
Without the original vision and dedication of the team at Diageo, the project will certainly not have become what it is now. That Vision drove and supported the Design Team working together on all aspects of the Visitor Experience – from the stunning landscape design by The Paul Hogarth Company which provides a dramatic first impression on arrival, to the crafted and immersive visitor experience spaces created by the team at BRC Imagination Arts. We have all worked collaboratively to ensure that the visitor experience is world class.
A CREATIVE TEAM
Of course, we could not have done any of it without the teams at Blyth & Blyth, Atelier 10, Thomson Bethune and ISG, whose knowledge and understanding of the industry and experience was invaluable in creating the project management drive and the construction / technical solutions to match the creative teams’ ideas and visions.
So, this Award is greatly appreciated and, although it will be proudly displayed in our office, it belongs to many.
…and if you haven’t visited yet……book a tour now. You won’t be disappointed.
