MLA have four nominations in the Scottish Regional shortlist for this year’s BCO Awards.

The Awards are well regarded as the benchmark for recognising excellence in office and workplace design in the UK, and we are proud that these nominations continue our long history of BCO Award winning projects, reinforcing our position as one of Scotland’s leading office and workplace designers.

Within our four nominations we have a variety of projects including a workplace fit-out, an office building refurbishment and two new build office projects.

In the running for the workplace fit-out category is our detailed and visually rich refurbishment of Saltire Court, Edinburgh for KPMG.

This exciting workplace transformation was developed with an emphasis on creating a workplace full of character and charm inspired by the city of Edinburgh – celebrating the importance of locality, identity and individuality

Our contemporary refurbishment of 191 West George Street in Glasgow for NFU is in the Refurbished/Recycled category.

The reception atrium has been completely transformed with a new double height entrance. New cycle and wellbeing facilities have been created in the lower levels and all office floors have been adapted to provide larger, more flexible floor plates with upgraded stair and toilet core accommodation to suit.

And heading up our entries into the Commercial Office Category are 2 Semple Street, Edinburgh for GSS Developments and Citypark 1 in Aberdeen (entered by the client, HFD Group).

Completing the Exchange District on one of the few remaining gap sites in the area, 2 Semple Street brings a considered, quality aesthetic to this focal corner, providing Grade A office accommodation over five upper floors and two ground floor retail spaces.

Providing 210,000 sqft of Grade A office accommodation over four floors, Citypark 1 has flexible open plan spaces that command excellent views over Aberdeen City from its elevated location on the south side of the River Dee.

The office and workplace design teams are delighted to have been nominated for these awards, the winners of which will be announced at the Scottish Awards Lunch to be held at the EICC on Friday the 17th May.

Good luck to all those nominated and see you on the day!
