MLA Designers donate artwork to Art in the Park

We have a very talented bunch at MLA who love to get creative in their work, but over the past couple of weeks, the team have also been getting creative for charity. Designers from across the practice created artwork to donate to Art in the Park, a local event held last Saturday by the Meadows Community Garden in Edinburgh to raise money for the Refugee Community Kitchen.

MLA designer Tara Kursinsky volunteers with the Meadows Community Garden and helped to organise the fundraising event, as well as contributing her own art. “Overall, the event was a rewarding experience for the MLA staff that participated and helped demonstrate the artistic talent within Edinburgh and throughout Scotland. It was beautiful sunny skies, and The Meadows was the perfect setting for a casual art exhibition, as people meandered through the rows on their weekend walk.”

Artwork from MLA included paintings, drawings and sketches filling out the orchard with vibrant colours and textures. The Refugee Community Kitchen also set up a stall with baked goods, spreads, and hot food offerings to raise additional funds for the charity.

We are delighted that the artwork donated by MLA designers has raised over £300 for these incredible organisations, and there are still some pieces available to buy, as pictured. If you are interested, please do get in touch – edinburgh@michaellaird.co.uk or give us a bell on 0131 226 6991.
