Michael McGurk joins Passivhaus Working Group
As a representative of the Scottish Property Federation, project director Michael McGurk will be participating in the ‘Energy Standards Review – Passivhaus Equivalent’ Working Group as part of the Scottish Government’s plans to introduce new minimum environmental design standards for all new-build housing.
Under the new regulation, all new build domestic dwellings will be required to meet the Passivhaus standard Scottish equivalent, making a huge step forward in sustainable construction practices to reduce carbon emissions in the built environment, and helping to pave the way for a more sustainable Scotland.
This collaboration with the wider industry will facilitate the exchange of ideas and expertise necessary to successfully implement the Domestic Building Environmental Standards (Scotland) Bill.
Michael McGurk: “It is a great opportunity to participate in the Group, working together with construction peers to ensure the methodology and means to the Scottish Passivhaus equivalent are deliverable.”
