We’re hiring – Principal Designer / CDM Consultant
MLA are looking for a Principal Designer/CDM Consultant to join our award-winning Architecture practice.

You will be working for a leading and highly respected Architecture practice that provides Architecture, Interior Design and Strategic Consultancy Services alongside our CDM Consultancy Service. We pride ourselves on being a great place to work, people-focused and design-led while providing a comprehensive service to our Clients.
Your new role will immerse you in an array of collaborative projects, encompassing award winning refurbishments and ground-breaking new builds across a wide variety of sectors.
Core Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will:
- Enjoy working in a Creative Environment to provide an Integrated and valued H&S Service for our Clients.
- Enjoy working on a wide range of exciting and interesting Architecture and Interior Design Projects.
- Be able to communicate with Clients, Designers and Contractors and build lasting relationships.
- Have previous Principal Designer and CDM Experience.
- Have a construction/building/design/health and safety related qualification.
- Be able to self-manage day-to-day tasks and have awareness of overall project timescales while having the support of the H&S and Compliance Team.
- Attend internal CPD’s and share the CDM and Principal Designer knowledge within the company.
- Have an awareness of business and service development activities and provide support as required.
- Be based out of our Edinburgh Office, with visits to the Glasgow office and site when required.

Skills / knowledge
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Good report writing skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand and read Construction Drawings and reports.
- Understanding of the Construction Industry.
